Fuben na Benriya Eps 1-3

Another benriya dorama after Mahoro Ekimae Bangaichi except this one is set in an unknown town in Hokkaido with a script writer stuck there and staying with two benriyas. Its laid back and wacky. There were a lot of gags where I could see the joke but it didn't really make me smile or laugh.

Mahoro Ekimae had pretty good human element stories about the characters in the small town but nothing in the first three episodes of Fuben na Benriya caught my attention and Lunch no Akko-chan is more interesting and funnier despite having less jokes.

The stories but get better but I've got no incentive to keep watching cause I'm just not feeling this show. Meh.

This show is complete snow porn for me. Weirdness aside, I think they did a really good job capturing small town life in the winter.

The only part I haven't liked was a scene in episode 4 that I think was supposed to be played for laughs but it just made my skin crawl. I like Endo Kenichi, but he scares me.

The fact that Endo Kenichi can switch between poor dude, funny guy and badass so easily is testament to his acting talent.

Endo is great and I wish I was not creeped out by him.

You know what my problem is...the first thing I distinctly remember seeing him in was one of those Captive Files movies and it tainted all his future roles for me. My perversion has screwed me over once again >.>

endo kenichi is a good actor unfortunately hes ugly so hes not getting any lead roles any time soon.
was just watching an old drama avallach posted called nogaremono (i was hooked for some reason), and saw endo guest star for 1 episode there, and he gets killed off. the curse of being ugly in the entertainment industry lol.

I don't think Endo is ugly, he just has a "look" that's very easily typecasted - like he's instantly believable as a gang member or an alcoholic or just something shady is going on with his character. Terajima Susumu has the same issue for me, even though I find him very attractive.

I feel like Terajima Susume is just playing parody roles at this stage of his career.

I haven't watched his older roles, but I think his acting range also limits him to cop/criminal characters. The only role I can remember him playing very differently, all I recall was him wearing an apron and cooking, and it was like watching a turtle riding a scooter. I'm happy enough seeing him in dramas, even if he plays the same role over and over.
