Mozu: The great jdorama hope of 2014?

Two years ago, TBS and WOWOW did co-operated to make Double Face, a remake of Infernal Affairs which showed that outside of Gaiji Keisatsu/Rinjo/Gonzo, the Japanese could make a cop show that was serious and did not end up looking like a tokusatsu.

Tomorrow will be the first episode of Mozu season 1 showing on TBS. Jadefrost has been writing character introductions for the series which is going to help me understand the series easier when I watch it. The two main actors from Double Face are back along with Maki Yoko along with the director. Mozu also has Kita Yoshio (who has in Double Face), Suzuki Sensei, Yabe Kenzo, Ishida Yuriko and Densha who did not overact in Double Face.

WOWOW is going to show season 2 which starts on 22nd June which tells me there's going to be (hopefully) a great ending to season 1 to entice viewers to pay for their WOWOW subscription. Like a lot of WOWOW shows, Mozu is going to have a lot of characters and hopefully they link together like Lady Joker instead of Link.

I need to figure out what sacrifices to offer the jdorama gods so that this ends up being a good dorama. Please be good. Can't wait to watch it!

ur post about double face made me watch it and glad i did. twas good. i didnt rly look at it since i thought it was just another copy of infernal affairs.

i hate densha, hes a bad actor, but i he keeps on getting shows probly cuz all of the fans he get from densha otoko.

yay for maki yoko another main role!
i see that kasumi arimura from amachan is here. i still dont get her appeal. shes been getting so many shows and cms more than even the main character of amachan. and kasumi is kinda weird looking especailly with her huge jaw which she covers up with her hair.

i hope this show is good. cant wait.

This was already my biggest hope for a great drama this coming season! Really can't wait to watch, great cast and production team as you describe. Maki Yoko looks badass.

Will you be doing a collective preview for Spring dramas soon? Another one which caught my attention was Saigo Kara Nibanme no Koi 2!! I really liked the first season...

  3. God the wait has been a LONG one! Almost forgot there was something called SPRING!

None of this season's dramas appealed to me at all and I was losing hope in jdramas in general.

    I can't believe there's a season 2 for Saigo! Can't wait either!!

  4. As an oyaji, I'm looking forward to Ishida Yuriko. She's got that je nai se quois that makes her irresistible...

But I can't say I'm sold on the cast in general. Many of the actors have a bad tendency to overact.

  5. ^dgundam, I'm happy kasumi arimura is embracing her jawline by pulling her hair up. She has an adorable face and should be proud of it.

  6. I think there will be quite a few good dramas this season. There's a Nojima shinji hiding there and two Okada Yoshikazu dramas. I'm not sure how I feel about a Saigo Kara season 2 though...

Also looking for a collective preview for Spring dramas.
