Kuwano Shinsuke is back and he is still unmarried. The theme song is still the same, just remixed.

Eiji is also back and has graduated from Kuwano's assistant to sharing the office with him.

They have replace the Kaneda blog with Yakkun's blog. When Kuwano enters his name in the internet search, the number 7 result is Yakkun's blog which is critical of Kuwano and accuses him on preying on the elderly with his designs for older people.

Kuwano goes to see a lawyer, Yoshiyama sensei (Yoshida Yo) for legal advice and I love how Kuwano is still his brazen, unfiltered self. Kuwano finds out that Yoshiyama sensei is single. I was most worried about Yoshida Yo's chemistry with Abe Hiroshi but they are pretty good together and of course the writing by Ozaki Masaya is good.

This looks very inappropriate for a gym.

We got a new konbini girl and am looking forward to her story.

Kuwano has a new neighbour who moves into Michiru's uncle's old apartment. She hides her face outside so I'm guessing she's some idoru that Kuwano is going to help out. I miss Michiru. :(

Kuwano goes to court to see Yoshiyama sensei in action and sees her representing Okano-san (Inamori Izumi) in her divorce proceedings.

Kuwano overheards Okano-san's husband and lawyer in the toilet and gets more involved.

Kuwano ends up going to Okano-san's cafe after picking her up in his taxi. Unusual to see Kuwano this proactive in courtship.

Unmarried lawyer and soon to be divorce client have a girls night out.

We find out the unfortunate news that Hayasaka sensei got married to a very rich guy killing all hope of a surprise return. I'm guessing Eiji is not longer with his old girlfriend?

Kuwano is of course enjoying shabu shabu by himself.

Kuwano's family is back. I predict an episode where the niece finds out how awesome her uncle is.

Looks like this show is going to start with Kuwano and Okano having a thing with Yoshiyama sensei watching from the sidelines.

I had fun watching Kuwano interacting with various people and doing his Kuwano thing.

I kept my expectations low and was prepared not to enjoy the sequel but Abe Hiroshi is just fun to watch. I am still not able to accept the Hayasaka ending did not happen but its still Kekkon Dekinai Otoko.

Looking forward to the next episode when Kuwano will start using a konkatsu application. Episode 1 has not been subbed yet as far as I know.

Japan 2019 trip Day 1 : Higanbana aka Red Spider Lily Festival at Kinchakuda in Koma

 

Just came back from Tokyo this morning and missed the crazy typhoon that is happening in Tokyo right now. If anyone is in Tokyo right now, please stay safe.

Reminds me of a certain building in the Yakuza games.

You can now charge your suice contactlessly. They have not changed all machines to contactless, yet. That's my suica from my first trip to Japan a lifetime ago. I love that they never expire unlike the stupid cards in Melbourne.

Taking the train to Koma station. I believe it was an hour from Ikebukuro.

This has always been on our list to do on the first day because it was pass full bloom period and we wanted to go before it was too late.

Its a 15 minute walk to Manjushage Park and there are plenty of stalls along the way including this honesty one.

We went early which meant there was not that many people which is always a good tip for avoiding crowds.

There were plenty of food stalls at the end.

The most interesting was this monkey performance which reminds of one of the revelations in Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan. I'm guessing this type of monkey performance is a traditional Japanese thing.

There was also a stream running alongside the Red Spider Lily fields and we should have taken off our shoes and waded in them like the school kids did.

Since we had to go through Ikebukuro to get back, we did a stop at Super Potato Ikebukuro.

Not my favourite retro game shop cause its a bit cramped and the selection isn't that amazing.

Back in Kabukicho.

Dinner at Sushizanmai. We still prefer Magurobito to sushizanmai. The first time we went we had counter seats, and this time we had our own table but it took us some time to realise that could have refused the otooshi aka appetizers which they charge you extra for. Can't remember if they asked us if we wanted otooshi. After eating at Sushizanmai twice, I just want to say there are better sushi places out there.

SagiDeka episodes 1~3

Kimura Fumino (Ishi no Mayu) is back in another police show in Sagideka. I don't know why the love casting this baby faced actress in police shows but whatever.

The theme of SagiDeka is about scams and what I like about this series is that it shows it not just from the perspective of the victims but also from the scammers themselves. The scam operations are run just like any other business and its the only get rich scheme available to people without any discernible skills.

I also like that it shows how easy it is for the elderly to get caught in scams. With Japan's population getting older and older, the list of potential victims is increasing and these entitled scammers try to justify it by claiming that they are only getting their fair share from the older generation.

The gimmick of SagiDeka is this phone scammer Kaji who Kimura Fumino catches and lets go to use as an informant and we as the audience are not sure where Kaji's allegiance lies. On a side note, when did this guy graduate from playing high school student to detective? He looks way too green.

I love the revelation about Kimura Fumino's childhood and I like the twist that can be seen a mile away. Watching SagiDeka reminds me of watching this news report about this group of Japanese caught running a scam telephone operations in Thailand.

Its just scary how good the Japanese are at oreore scams and just how effective they are. Watchable.
