Nagi no Oitoma Episodes 7-10

Just finished Nagi no Oitama and what a flat second half that was.

Could have seen the no ending coming as the show was becoming an everyone became a better person and went their separate ways show.

Absolutely hated how Nagi at the most important moment with the coin laundry having fallen into her lap would not stand up against her mother and betrayed her friend. She absolutely lost me at this point.

Nagi no Oitoma gets a meh from me. I kept watching out of curiosity but in the end it didn't go anywhere interesting.

Japan 2019 trip Day 2: Todoroki Valley and Futako Tamagawa

I think the main appeal of Todoroki Valley is that it is just 20 minutes by train from Shibuya. A green oasis next to the concrete jungle of Tokyo.

Arriving at Todoroki station, we decided to stock up on some food.

I ended up getting the tamagopan or egg bread from the supermarket near the station.

The entrance to Todoroki Valley which is 5 minutes from the station. You can see a bunch of people in the dark blue Gibralter shirts. There were there to pick up rubbish which I greatly applaud.

The red bridge next to the entrance.

Map of Todoroki Valley. Its not a big place anyway.

We came early as usual so it wasn't packed yet.

Important tip for Japan is always carry your rubbish back to your hotel because it is very rare to find rubbish bins in the wild.

Don't be like those inconsiderate tourists from a certain country who like leaving their rubbish in toilets.

I just love how clean parks and nature places in Japan are. In Melbourne people are so inconsiderate and just throw rubbish anywhere.

Not saying the Japanese are angels because the littering in Kabukicho is incredible.

Love this shot because you can see a bit of autumn leaves and komorebi.

Todoroki Valley is not spectacular but its great for a short walk amongst nature in the morning.

and is great contrast to the concrete surroundings in Tokyo.

Koi in a pond.

On the way back, we noticed this huge shopping complex next to the Futako Tamagawa station and decided to give it a visit.

They were having this this slackline championship where people bounce on the line and do tricks.

Found this shop selling lots of miniature grocery items.

The Awesome Store was not that awesome.

Snoppy X Brave Bossoms goods aka Japan Rugby team.

Magazines that come with a bag have become a thing in Japan.

Had sushi for lunch at Kyushu sushi Aburi Tora.

This was the first time I knew there was a specific style of sushi from Kyushu.

Gokujou aka first rate roast Miyazaki beef sushi. Not bad.

Was it worth 3 chu toros? Maybe not.

People still watching the slackline championship.

Ferrari car exhibition.

Look at the poor car.

Futako Tamagawa was a middle class residential area.

This Hello World looks like a copycat of Kimi no na wa.

Went to Katsukura in Takashimaya Shinjuku for dinner after finding out that Tonkatsu Santa had closed and it was disappointing. Bland and overpriced.

This is a picture from Tonkatsu Santa a long time ago. Can't really see because of the poor quality but Santa had a unique coating to their tonkatsu and the meat was soft. We didn't manage to eat their last trip and I think the last time we at at Santa was two years ago. :(

Anata no Warehouse is closing on November 17th. :(

Shocked to see this news from Brian Ashcraft of Kotaku. Legendary arcade in Kawasaki, Anata no Warehouse is closing its doors in a month. I first went to Anata no Warehouse end of last year and it was glorious! Old school dirty Hong Kong vibe with endless rows of arcade machines, crane games and darts.

I did think about going back there again but there was no time during the last trip. Maybe next trip I need to patronise more arcade centres. Anata no Warehouse is a one in a kind establishment and there will never be nothing like it.

Even if you don't play arcade games, its worth visiting for the spectacle alone. There is only 1 month left. Plus, its only a short train ride from Tokyo. It makes me sad when arcades disappear and the biggest and coolest arcade I have ever been to is going to go. さようならあなたのウエアハウス! :(

Mada Kekkon Dekinai Otoko Episode 1

Kuwano Shinsuke is back and he is still unmarried. The theme song is still the same, just remixed.

Eiji is also back and has graduated from Kuwano's assistant to sharing the office with him.

They have replace the Kaneda blog with Yakkun's blog. When Kuwano enters his name in the internet search, the number 7 result is Yakkun's blog which is critical of Kuwano and accuses him on preying on the elderly with his designs for older people.

Kuwano goes to see a lawyer, Yoshiyama sensei (Yoshida Yo) for legal advice and I love how Kuwano is still his brazen, unfiltered self. Kuwano finds out that Yoshiyama sensei is single. I was most worried about Yoshida Yo's chemistry with Abe Hiroshi but they are pretty good together and of course the writing by Ozaki Masaya is good.

This looks very inappropriate for a gym.

We got a new konbini girl and am looking forward to her story.

Kuwano has a new neighbour who moves into Michiru's uncle's old apartment. She hides her face outside so I'm guessing she's some idoru that Kuwano is going to help out. I miss Michiru. :(

Kuwano goes to court to see Yoshiyama sensei in action and sees her representing Okano-san (Inamori Izumi) in her divorce proceedings.

Kuwano overheards Okano-san's husband and lawyer in the toilet and gets more involved.

Kuwano ends up going to Okano-san's cafe after picking her up in his taxi. Unusual to see Kuwano this proactive in courtship.

Unmarried lawyer and soon to be divorce client have a girls night out.

We find out the unfortunate news that Hayasaka sensei got married to a very rich guy killing all hope of a surprise return. I'm guessing Eiji is not longer with his old girlfriend?

Kuwano is of course enjoying shabu shabu by himself.

Kuwano's family is back. I predict an episode where the niece finds out how awesome her uncle is.

Looks like this show is going to start with Kuwano and Okano having a thing with Yoshiyama sensei watching from the sidelines.

I had fun watching Kuwano interacting with various people and doing his Kuwano thing.

I kept my expectations low and was prepared not to enjoy the sequel but Abe Hiroshi is just fun to watch. I am still not able to accept the Hayasaka ending did not happen but its still Kekkon Dekinai Otoko.

Looking forward to the next episode when Kuwano will start using a konkatsu application. Episode 1 has not been subbed yet as far as I know.
